Library Reveal

Monday, August 27, 2012

We converted our never-used guest bedroom into a library.  This room is the perfect place for Shelley and me to read and study.

I threw this post together rather quickly, and I do not like the photos.  I should not have used flash.  I will post about the details of this room either tomorrow or Wednesday, and hopefully I will take better pictures!  :/

  3. The table in front of the swing is divine, but all of the thoughtful details of cushions and lamps are perfect too. Enjoy the reinvented space.

  4. It's a beautiful room and you will really enjoy it! I would love to get our bookcases up in our library....but it waits for something else! lol Enjoy your week!

  5. It's a lovely room Ricki Jill! I love the red walls. That's a cute little foot stool too. Hubby is off today taking an educational course. It seems so weird to be alone for the day. It's like he is back working and gone all day. So I'm blogging, crocheting and maybe will do some work later. It's tough being retired. Have a lovely day and thanks for showing us your library room.

  6. My goodness!! I also just did a post on my art books. It's embarrassing how many I have. Thought you might like to peruse the titles. Do you have any of these?

I know what you mean about taking pictures at night. I really try not to do that too but when the pressure is on to do a post... sometimes you have to. I didn't even realize they were taken at night, Ricki Jill. Really. They are quite good.

And the neatness of your house is incredible, I might add!

Good for you. Best wishes, Linda

    Love that swing!!!
I would love to see it with a glow of the lamps on in the evening. I bet with those walls it glows beautifully in the evening.
You picked great styling decor, the horse painting and all those ribbons... Very cool!
    Enjoy it!!!

  11. What a beautiful room. I love to see pictures of your rooms because there are always unexpected and creative touches that always work so well together. I guess that's what comes from having an artist's eye--you make it look so easy.

I love seeing what other people have on their bookshelves. Of course I recognize a few but I find myself squinting to see if I can make out the titles of the rest!

  21. I love the red walls in the library, Ricki Jill. Isn't it nice to have a place where you can read and think? When we moved from our huge house into a smaller one, I no longer have a library, and I miss that. I am wondering, where did all the ribons come from?

  23. Beautiful room and very functional! Love how you displayed all the medals and ribbons! I can handle the rain but I am terrified of strong winds because of the many tall trees in the backyard. I get so nervous when I see them swaying. I hope it does not get too bad.
